Pathum Uyana is a center for education and skill development of children and adults with special needs. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered as a charity in Sri Lanka. The center is managed by a Board of Trustees. Its vision is to serve all Sri Lankans regardless of caste, religious or ethnic divide.
The center is open for classes from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm on weekdays. At present, there are 30 children and adults, between the ages of 5 – 30, studying with the support of four staff members. CandleAid commenced work with Pathum Uyana by funding its multi-sensory room. CandleAid assists Pathum Uyana by fulfilling their needs on a funds available basis. CandleAid is able and willing to coordinate donations from any persons who may wish to help Pathum Uyana and its children.
